Here, I've broken the themes down to show common features of their respective styles. You also do not need to use all of these, but rather, use them as a guide or a starting point. Plus, these are not all the possible themes, just suggestions, so if you do spot more, do feel free to use them in your outfit.

Remember, you are allowed to use the plaza to make your looks, so make the most of it for this round if your wardrobe is small!

I've also recommended stores as to where such items can be found - I divided them by Most Relevant Items and Some Relevant Items.

For all themes:
I'd recommend Pretty N Love for everything pastel.
Royalty has items matching all themes, as well as pastels.
Never underestimate what you can use from Basics.

Pastel colours are shown in the picture above.

THEMES:

  • 90s Grunge
  • Femme Goth
  • Casual Steampunk

BE WARNED - searching "pastel grunge"  & "pastel goth"  will not give you good inspiration. This is because PG & PS often overlap but their base styles, which is what we want you to use, do not. Lucy is a former Goth and will not be impressed with you if you try mix them up. The inspiration albums are very specific to what we are looking for, so please take care to look at the differences between each aesthetic.

The results are in!

Our winner this week is Me4evr! Congratulations. Unfortunately, CharmedAvenger scored the least and is eliminated....

The next round, however, is the COMEBACK ROUND. This means dolls who were previously eliminated will be able to participate as well, and earn back their spot in the cycle. Everyone who wishes to be in the cycle - including current participants - must enter.

Leigh has had a major family issue so has not given feedback for this round. Her score were contributed however - if you would like feedback from her, she will be back online next week.

Eve - 6.91

Myrthe  - The top part really fits the theme and I like that, the cute little white crop top with that loose flower cardigan looks cute. I feel like some jeans flared pants would have worked better with this look, the pants in your outfits are too 'chique'. To fit your top part, the bottom should be more casual and 'chill' I don't know how to explain it in a different way than this. Same counts for the bag and the shoes.

Lucy - This is definitely a nice enough outfit, it's just not anything super special. There's not a lot going on here, and like Myrthe said, it's a little confused in terms of styling - the top and cardigan are very beachy, but the pants and bag are more city girl.

Mirdith - Nice combo! I really like the simple outfit in black and white with those elegant and simple accessories and then the contrast with the floral jacket. I also like those pinkish sunglasses matching the pink flowers.

Lovefotinh - 7.33

Lucy - My pet peeve? Colours that almost - but don't quite - match. And this is it, all over. The jacket and pants would have been fine, but all the added different pinks, not so much. The texture/print of the top is also just too busy when the jacket and pants are already bold.

Myrthe - the top part looks great together, the colours are soft and don't clash. However, the bright red and purple don't work well with the top and the cardigan you used. You could have chosen different pants, or a more bolder top. But the combination of the bottom and the top part just doesn't work for me. The bag is okay if I don't take the pants in consideration, same for the earring which looks great with the top and the cardigan.

Mirdith - Those pants were a risky choice and you combined them very nicely. I like that you kept the same colour palette and that you did not over do it with other red items. I’m not particularly fond of the pink belt you added, but all the rest is very nice, including that great creation for the back part of the coat.

charmedavenger - 6.08

Lucy - Firstly, I really like the colour tones in this - the blues, pink and rose golds work really well.  Loose and wide shaped things should always be matched with something that's fitted, or else you end up looking like a tent, which is what happened with this top and pant combo.

Myrthe - This is a really simple look, it's not ugly or anything, just okay. Your outfit meets the guidelines so that's a good thing; I really like the pants you used, but a different top and a jacket would have made this outfit better. The shoes also fit the theme very well. I'm not a fan of the choker since it looks a little bit weird and too modern to fit the 'flower' style here. The bag is too fany for this look, something more casual would have worked better!

Mirdith - I really like the top part of the outfit, how you added the pink choker and pink cross-body bag, and it looks really cute with that off-shoulder top. However, the denim flares don’t quite look good with the turquoise top for my taste. Some white flares would have looked so much better! Also, shoes look kinda out of place for the colours.

Louisa.karemina - 7.5

Myrthe - I love the colour use in this look! She looks like a woman who has it all together and knows her style. The darker flower pants work great with the jacket and the top you choose! The sleeves of the top bother me a little bit since they are a little bit visible behind the jacket and a little too big for it. The belt wasn't necessary, the gold B kind of annoys me somehow. I'm not a big fan of the bag either, the gold is a little too yellow to my taste.

Mirdith - I like how the pants look with the belt and that blouse, but those sleeves peaking that much out of the jacket are not of my taste. I guess the jacket was necessary to cover the parts required to complete the blouse, but it just looks a bit out of place. Also, the back part you used for the jacket has a very different color from the jacket. In that case it would have been better not using a back part. More things to comment: shoes. I’m not liking those two patterns together, mostly because they are touching one another, maybe if there was something in the middle it would be more appealing. The earrings coordinate very well with the collar you created for the blouse, but bag and sunglasses look very random to me.

Lucy - There's something not quite right about this colour scheme - perhaps it's mixing casual brown-tans with classy gold-black that's the issue. I do really love the pants and blouse combination, and the chokers, but not so much the jacket - we see sleeves, as mentioned - but also the shoes were necessarily patterned, which isn't awful, just a little clashy right next to the pants.

Noismini - 6.58

Mirdith - Love the Dior pants you used for that, and I like very much the idea of combining them with that flowered top with the long part on the back. But, I think it would have looked even better with another hairstyle that let the top more visible, as with that long hairstyle your top gets so covered that you don't get to know if it's the top what's peaking on the back part or some kind of jacket added on top or what. Then, about accessories. Firstly, I think the golden belt was unnecessary, or the brown one. Why adding those two together? Don't see the point. And then the bag... I don't like the strap of the bag with the patterned top and why a green bag? I think a cute brownish bag like the belt, or even something in the colours of the top would have been a nicer option.

Myrthe - Those pants look really nice, I love your choice! I think it's a really creative idea to pair it with the top that is long at the back, it's looks really new I agree with Mirdith that the long hair covers up your outfit, I don't really like that. I would have liked the green of the bag if it wasn't that bright, more toned down like the green in the top and I don't like the strap since the colours are just weird in combination with this outfit. It looks more like a sportbag strap or something. I like the brown belt you added, but the gold one was unnecessary here. It doesn't add anything more to the outfit and it just doesn't look good.

Lucy - I wrote THIS POST at the beginning of the cycle warning everyone about hairstyles. We only take points off for hair and makeup if they majorly distract from the outfit, and this definitely does. Maybe you wanted a hippie look, which is fine, but never at the expense of the outfit's details.  As for the actual outfit, the top and skirt are an interesting combination, and I don't mind the glasses, but that bag is an appalling choice. It's so boldly coloured compared to the pastel top is just doesn't work. Neither do the layered belts.

Gingerzarah - 7.33

Lucy - I love the colours used, but the jacket looks incredibly bulky when you've already got such wide pants. I don't like the bag much either.

Mirdith - For me the main issue here is the bag, maybe it would look better if you have put it in the back of the pants, or on the other hand. I like the colours you used as well, but I think that with those pants you could have done way more.

Me4evr

Lucy -  I like the choice in top, and the orange bag really brings out the colours in the pants. The belt pieces come out of the sleeve, though, which isn't a good look.  I think you could have used a necklace or jacket, just some small piece of extra detailing to really make it stand out.

Mirdith - Agreeing with Lucy in that you should have added something else. Is a nice outfit, but somehow it looks a bit plain even using those pants! Just a necklace or some sunglasses could have turned your outfit a little bit more trendy. Other than that, nice entry.

This time, it's all about floral - and flared pants. Suggested by LisdenG & Eve11149

You may use either floral flared pants or flared pants plus a floral top/dress/jacket*.
Flared pants are defined as culottes, bellbottoms, bootcut & wide leg pants. See bottom of post for Stardoll examples.

In general, though, we want any pant where the lowest part on the leg is the widest. (IE; no mom jeans, skinnies, or harlem pants.)

You have until the 20th of January to submit.

*Floral accessories do not count.

Stardoll Flare Pant Examples

Feel free to use these if you want to. If you are unfamiliar with pant shapes, these examples should show you what we mean.

Cullottes

These typically end below the knee, but above the ankle. They are not fitted, but may sometimes be pleated or ruffled.

Wide Leg

These pants are generally angled, being widest around the ankle/foot, and skinniest at the waist. Typically jeans.

Bellbottoms & Boot Cut

These pants are tightert around the knees, flaring out wide around the foot and ankle.

Late, but here!

Some submissions were late, but I (Lucy) accidentally wrote the wrong date on one post, and since the judges were away as well, the missing days from this week will be added into your next task, making it 1-and-a-half weeks.

The winner is .... LOVEFOTINH! And unfortunately, we must say goodbye to Cold_hearted, who did not submit. But don't worry - week 6 is the comeback task!

CharmedAvenger

Lucy - This is not so good. The dress and jacket are an odd combination, and the gold pieces look like they belong to a whole different outfit. And I think we've already commented on the too-many-colours tattoos? I'm sorry to say, I don't have much good to say here, only that this proves how challenging this task can be.

Myrthe -Your outfit is all over the place and there is just too much going on here. The glitter isn’t working well together, Same counts for the golden necklace and the silver glitter here. Sometimes this can work but here it doesn’t. The clutch was a good choice to fit with the dress I like that part.

Leigh - Not a good effort. I think you should have used the plaza since you have a small wardrobe, instead of making ...this. Nothing goes as an outfit, maybe separately (dress+clutch vs choker + headband) but I don't know what the style is this is supposed to be which is not helping.

Mirdith - I have to agree with my colleagues, there's so much going on. Also I can see two different shades of gold, and that distracts me a lot. Using already a silver dress and that gold jacket, you should have sticked to black maybe, or silver (the silver shade you used was easier to find that the gold of the jacket).

Lovefotinh

Lucy - "Maximal" has got to be my new fave word. I absolutely adore the layers of the top half! The fact you included a silver-and-gold necklace mix as well as a silver-detailed bag makes this look even better. I don't know how to feel about the shoes here - are they boots, or pumps with a sock? Not sure, but something plainer may have worked a little better, since it's already a loud look.

Myrthe - I love this outfit! You really managed to get the silver and gold work together, really nice work here. The layers make the outfit really new fresh and creative. I love the print on the top part of your outfit and the belt you added. I actually do like the shoes here! The bag is also a really good choice since it has both gold and silver in it.

Leigh - Love this! I think it's all been said by the others. I agree with Lucy about the shoes, which I know are tributes but just looks odd since it looks like you layered shoes where the skirt hits, rather than just pumps or shoes with socks.

Mirdith - Nice work mixing silver and gold! Looks made totally on purpose and looks very festive and amazing. I like the choice of shoes with the rest of the outfit, the only thing that bothers me a bit are the black sleeves peaking out of the versace jacket, even though I like the addition of the black jacket to achieve a better shaping. Also, love that one earring! Great job!

GingerZarah

Lucy - I suspect you took a very good look at the inspo - which is what it's there for! The men's sweater is an interesting choice, and the jacket helps the bulked shoulder look more intentional. It's a very balanced look, which is always difficult with oversized items. The little silver shirt poking out is a bit weird, but it does add some necessary silver.

Myrthe - This is a simple outfit but you managed to make the gold and silver work together so great job on doing that because that’s not really easy! I really love your choice of pants and the jacket. The shoes make the look a little more classic and that kind of doesn’t work with the edgier top part of your outfit. Some black boots would have looked great!

Leigh - Like Myrthe I don't love the shoes, and like Lucy I don't know about the silver top..thing. But the proportions are awesome both with the outfit shape, and the gold/silver.

Mirdith - Cute! That's how I would describe that. I think another pants would have looked better, which means that you did not achieve to mix silver and gold effectively (since that is where the main gold/silver item is). Other than that, is a nice minimal outfit, and the use of silver and gold does not make me wanna scream "what has she done?!" That jacket is a great choice for this task, as it combines silver and gold, and I think it give great cohesion to the whole outfit. Good job!

Louisa.karemina

Myrthe - I really like the pants but I feel like the silver jacket adds too much silver to this look in combination with the pants. The balance between gold and silver isn’t right in your outfit. The bottom part works fine together, its just the orange of the bag that’s bothering me. The top part looks a bit weird because of the yellow top.

Lucy - Ditch that bag, asap. The jacket, belt and even the shoes seem to work, but the pants are just too much, especially when the shirt is such a pale tone of gold. I suspect black pants and a different bag could have done wonders for this look.

Leigh - A good try, but too much silver is happening here. And the bag doesn't tone in with all of it's orange and brown going on. I'm with Lucy - different pants and bag might have been all this really needed to not be so clashing.

Mirdith - I agree with Myrthe here. The jacket is too much, top looks weird and bad has different tones... Maybe other shoes instead of boots, more delicate, would have also improved your outfit. And definitely another bad and a different combination on the upper part.

Eve11149

Myrthe - The jacket is a great choice and looks really fashionable and modern, I feel like you could have done more with this. It's also more yellow than gold so that's a little bit saddening me :( You did work with a little bit of gold in your bag but not really much, it feels like the silver is the main part of your outfit and that wasn't really the task. The pants don't look great under that jacket, something different and more close to the leg would have been better here. The shoes also look a little bit off and would have worked better with a summery outfit. this is a simple outfit to put together, try to do something extra next time and not just work with a jacket, pants, shoes and a bag.

Lucy - Mythe nailed it - nothing quite went right here, proportionally. I like that you did something out of the box, and I don't mind the bag with this jacket, but the pants are the wrong shape and I don't know why you went with glasses and pumps when this is such a winter cuddles type of look.

Leigh - Nothing left to say to be honest. Black skinnies, black-gold booties and a gold necklace could have made this coat so well. This look doesn't though.

Mirdith - What Leigh said. Agree 100%.

Noismini - 7.5

Leigh - I'm not super into the top, it looks really casual or street when the rest of this is very glam. I like the gold ring necklace matching the bracelet and shoe straps.

Lucy - Leigh covered the top and accessories - personally, I'm not fond of jsut how grey-toned the two main pieces look, as I was hoping more for more of a standout main piece, like the others went for, though ultimately it's still within the guidelines so it's fine, just not what I was looking for personally.

Mirdith - Oh my! A goddess!! Love this mix of silver and gold. I think that is the key to achieve a good mix, use a tone down gold that can look good with silver, not a very yellowish gold, you did it and it looks perfect. I don't have any issues. The outfit could have been more origina somehow, but it sill looks good and fulfills the task requirements, so very good!

Me4evr - 7.23

Mirdith - The only thing I'm not sure about is the combination of shapes in your outfit. Everything looks a bit squared, even though at the same time is kind of coordinated. What I do love is that silverish white you chose to combine with gold, cause it makes the mix of silver & gold very pleasant. I would have put the bag on the other hand though, and maybe add some silver or gold jewellery for a more complete outfit. Some earrings here with the up do would have made wonders!

Lucy - Like Mirdith said, the shapes are a bit... weird. The bolero I think is what's causing the biggest issue. The toning of the items is nice, and I like that you used a dress as a skirt.
